Apologies for the late post, but the Dodgers -- 10-1 in their last 11 road games -- are worth a look at anything less than -170. Julio Urias is 7-0 with a 2.58 ERA over his last eight starts, and he's shined against the Giants this season (18 innings, nine hits and two runs allowed). Look for Mookie Betts (10 for 30 vs. Alex Cobb) to spark the NL's best offense as the Dodgers beat their rivals for the seventh straight time.
After an incredible hot streak, I am dealing with a bit of regression yesterday and today but nothing too crazy. Was going to happen sooner or later. That said, I like this price of just -125 on the Giants runline at home in a rivalry game after being embarrassed in B2B games. That Dodgers lineup looks kinda meh without the likes of Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger and Will Smith. LA's Julio Urias has been great, but the Giants' Alex Cobb (I always get him and Alex Wood mixed up) has been way better at home (2.84 ERA) and had a 2.75 ERA overall in July. JD Davis makes his SF debut. This almost feels like a letdown game for the Dodgers as well the day after learning of Vin Scully's death. You knew they were going to win yesterday after finding about it.
Julio Urias is 6-0 with a 2.97 ERA in his last seven games and he was 4-0 with a 2.89 ERA in July. He has also pitched 16 innings against the Dodgers this season and allowed just 2 runs. Alex Cobb has been a lot better lately with a 2.75 ERA in July but that included an outing against the Dodgers where he allowed 4 ER in 5.2 IP. The Giants have had the second worst bullpen in the league in the last 30 days and the Dodgers have beaten them 6 straight times now.
The Dodgers have won six straight against the Giants, all by two runs or more, after being swept in San Francisco in June. LA holds the second-best runline record in MLB, covering 60.2 percent of the time. In 18 innings pitched against the Giants, Julio Urias has only given up nine hits and two earned runs. He’s held opponents to a .206 expected batting average this season. The last time the Dodgers faced Alex Cobb, they were able to score four runs in five and two-thirds innings. Play the Dodgers -1.5 runs at +100.
