If the weather was normal, I'd love Toledo in the Glass Bowl, where it's nearly unbeatable under Jason Candle and leads this series 16-1 there. Alas, the weather probably benefits Ohio more. But have to take the Rockets in their home finale and with MAC title game elimination with a loss. Believe they have the more talented roster led by dual-threat QB Tucker Gleason and perhaps the MAC's top wideout in Jerjaun Newton (10 TDs). And actually the weather looks slightly better than it did yesterday and certainly better than it looks for nearby Cleveland on Thursday -- it's on the wrong side of the lake in terms of lake-effect storms, something I know all too well from my Michigan days (different lake).
The weather forecast has bet down this total. There’s a possibility of rain with 20 MPH winds and gusts up to 39 MPH. This could bode for a more conversative game approach for both teams. Ohio is a run heavy team which can play into their favor. The Rockets lean more on their passing game and don’t have the strongest run game this season. Ohio’s defense has only allowed 8.7 points to their opponents over their last three games and the weather can certainly be a factor in this one.
