Boise State has beat UNLV six straight times. They beat UNLV last year 44-20. This year is probably the best year that UNLV has had in football in over 30 years but I don't think they're good enough at this point the beat Boise State who has the probable Heisman winner and the No. 4 offense in the nation. They're No. 2 in the nation in rushing at 289 yards per game and they average 7.7 yards per game which is tops in the nation. They should score early and often against UNLV who enjoys the fast pace and likely get this game over as well but I'll just take the side Boise State.
It's a spotlight game for Ashton Jeanty and the Broncos, but UNLV isn't going to just hand him the Heisman on Friday. This UNLV defense will be one of the tougher defenses the Broncos have faced all year, and I don't know that the Rebels will want to get in a shootout here, because keeping Jeanty off the field as much as possible is the best football decision.
The upstart Rebels are a legit top-25 team (although they are currently unranked) and they are receiving warranted respect in this line. However, the powerful Broncos are a level ahead, behind the nation's third-best scoring offense (47 ppg) and Heisman front-runner Ashton Jeanty. In last year's MWC title game in Las Vegas, Jeanty went for 153 yards and a TD as part of a rushing attack that compiled 301 total yards in a 44-20 win.. In a national showcase game that could boost his Heisman campaign, look for the Broncos to again prevail.
