I realize I'm not getting the best number on this game, but I'm going to continue fading Oklahoma this season. As the last several weeks have shown, the Sooners cannot move the ball offensively. Meanwhile I expect the South Carolina offense to churn out enough yards on the ground behind Rocket Sanders and LaNorris Seller to pull this one out.
Last week, the erratic Gamecocks nearly handed Alabama its second consecutive loss as a three-touchdown favorite, but the Tide held on for a 27-25 victory. Can South Carolina rebound to beat a quality opponent on the road this week? No. At least, we’re betting against it. The Sooners have seen their normally high-powered offense take a major downturn, but they are still solid defensively. Despite the 34-3 score last week against Texas, the defense played respectably between the lines but was put on the field and in unfavorable positions far too often by the limited offense. However, this is now a pivotal game just for Oklahoma’s bowl hopes, and I think we see a focused effort that nets a needed victory.
