Minnesota QB Tanner Morgan, who sat out last week, is questionable because of upper-body injury. If he's under center, the Gophers are the clear value side but they'll have a chance even if he sits again. It's the last home game for program stalwarts such as Morgan and RB Mohamed Ibrahim, both of whom have been with the program a whopping six years. Often times, teams are distracted and have a letdown on Senior Day, but coach PJ Fleck, whose club still has an outside chance at the West division title, should have his club prepared. A similarly erratic Iowa club has won three straight but could be in a flat spot following its hard-fought win against Wisconsin last week.
This line is ridiculous. This is the lowest total in FBS since they started tracking it. The Hawkeyes offense has looked a lot better as they have scored at least 24 points in each of their last three games. On the other side, the Golden Gophers are averaging 27.3 PPG during their three-game win streak. Both teams have elite defenses but this total is way too low to pass up.
This would be the lowest total in the FBS since tracking began in 1995. I mean I sort of get it with how good both have been defensively at times this year (and bad offensively) but come on man! This is stupid. If they can't combine for 33 points they need to be relegated from the Big Ten. It will be cold in Minneapolis but not snowing or anything.
Just when we thought a total would hit rock-bottom this season, with Iowa-Wisconsin going off at 34.5 last weekend, here comes a lower number by two full points. The Gophers have engaged in just one game lower than this count, a 31-0 win over Rutgers. Iowa has played a bunch of them but its offense has picked up the pace, however slightly. No real analysis needed here. When handed a figure this tiny, close your eyes and take the Over.
