Senior Dennis Grosel takes over at quarterback for Boston College now that junior Phil Jurkovec likely is done for the season due to a hand injury. In three games last year, Gosel completed 37-of-54 attempts for 568 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. He's appeared in the same amount of contests this season and is 302 yards with two TDs and one pick.
Missouri has won two of three this season but failed to cover in each contest. Their rating is overrated to the point that they’re favored here at Boston College. SEC bias? Maybe. Offensive overreach to a rating? Possibly. The Tigers gained 675 yards against Southeast Missouri State last week but still didn’t cover the 35.5-point spread. Boston College backup QB Dennis Grosel took snaps last season and won last week as the starter. I’m on the Eagles.
I'm sure the loss of Boston College QB Phil Jurkovec to a hand injury is the reason why this line is the way it is. However, don't discount what Missouri has done so far this season. I'm a big fan of QB Connor Bazelak and how he operates in the passing game. This team can score on anybody. Can the Eagles go score-for-score with the Tigers without Jurkovec? I don't believe they can. I'm on Missouri.
