I don't have a great feeling about Nebraska right now. Huskers fans were calling for Scott Frost's head after the 30-22 loss to Illinois, and the college football calendar hadn't even reached Week 1 yet. I don't think a blowout last week of Fordham, a FCS team, fixed much. Buffalo has the depth at running back and on the defensive line to keep this interesting. My model says the Bulls cover two-thirds of the time, so you're getting strong value at this number.
Buffalo got everyone some playing time last week in a 69-7 win against Wagner, covering -43.5. Most important is the new guys stepped up big on offense. The Bulls have five quality breakaway RBs led by senior Kevin Marks. Almost all of the O-line is back that opened huge holes last season. Nebraska is just another game now. Let’s give the Huskers 4.5 points for home field (it is in Lincoln) and only a 4-point neutral-field edge. I took the points on Buffalo, which may win outright.
