This has come a fair amount down. I expect Ottawa to play much better in Game 2 as few players had any postseason experience in Game 1. But the Sens also are under .500 away and the Leafs 28-13-1 at home. If Anthony Stolarz plays like he did in the opener, the Toronto Cup drought very well may end. He had a 1.86 GAA at home during the RS. I probably play -1 during the RS, but so many one-goal postseason games.
Since 1967 is a long time to wait for a title...is this the year (finally) for the Leafs? Maybe. Consider Sunday's 6-2 romp past the Sens as a warning shot for the rest of the NHL. Ottawa entered Scotiabank Arena in good form but was quickly back on its heels as Toronto jumped on Linus Ullmark early with Oliver-Eckman Larsson scoring just seven minutes into the first period and Mitch Marner doubling the lead shortly thereafter. More ominous for Ottawa was 38 penalty minutes and the Toronto power play which scored three times, while Anthony Stolarz looked quite comfy for the Leafs in his second-ever playoff game, stopping 31 of 33 shots.
