Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Bruce's Analysis:

Maybe the Flyers should have dismissed John Tortorella sooner, scoring 13 goals across the last two games in wins for interim HC Brad Shaw since Torts walked the plank last week. Whether or not it is anything specific being done by Shaw, the offense is suddenly clicking, playing uninhibited, especially Matvei Michkov, who has scored a pair of goals in each of those last two wins. Philadelphia also fired 62 shots at goal across the past two games, suggesting this sort of new aggression. We rarely look over in games involving the Preds and their NHL-worst offense but given the pace of recent Philly games are compelled to expect this one to hit at least six goals at Wells Fargo Center. Matt's Analysis:

Certainly not playing anywhere close on this to what I did yesterday on my Auburn/Cleveland Cavs ML parlay (great season, thank you Sparty) and I wish it was Flyers No. 1 Samuel Ersson in net instead of Ivan Fedotov, but the Predators have been atrocious on the road, are 2-7 in their past nine overall games and down two top forwards in Jonathan Marchessault (49 points) and Colton Sissons (21 points) -- plus All-Star blueliner Roman Josi remains on IR. Philly isn't much better than Nashville but basically .500 at home and pretty healthy.
