Jake Oettinger is the better goalie here, and the Stars actually outplayed Edmonton in Game 1 (in my opinion). Dallas had two shots hit the post that would have resulted in a different outcome, and it still has home ice for Game 2. I'm backing the Stars to even the series before it heads to Edmonton.
Losing the first game of a series is nothing new for Dallas; that's now seven straight series openers that the Stars have dropped after Thursday's 3-2 OT loss at AA Center, including both previous rounds this spring vs. Vegas and Colorado. Yet Dallas has played best with its backs to the wall, and might have been a bit unfortunate in Game One, with two pucks off of the post in OT. Credit the Oilers with playing a tighter game as the playoffs have progressed, helping GK Stuart Skinner, but Dallas might get a big boost if Roope Hintz returns as anticipated tonight to help match up vs. the Connor McDavid line. Still prefer Jake Oettinger in goal. Play Stars on Money Line
