Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

Kenny's Analysis:

Jack Hughes is back with a goal in his last two games. Hughes missed more than a month and returned after the all-star break. It took a couple of games to get back up to speed. The Kings had a nice win out of the break with their new coach but crushed the next one in Buffalo 7-0. The do have the embarrassment factor and I do think they will play a much better game, I think the Devils are the better team at home.

Griffin's Analysis:

Los Angeles is not playing good hockey of late, which crescendoed on Tuesday with their 7-0 loss at the hand of the Buffalo Sabres. The Kings are now allowing 4.0 goals per game on the road across the past 45 days, which should lead to some New Jersey scoring, as the Devils are averaging 3.6 goals/game at home in the same stretch of time. Nico Daws is in net for the Devils, having only allowed three goals over his past two starts, and with superstar Jack Hughes back and getting into form, we prefer backing New Jersey here. The Devils have won two straight against the Kings.
