Despite some earlier reports suggesting otherwise, it looking like Philipp Grubauer will remain out and Joey Daccord will be in the crease again for Seattle. Daccord has played well with a 2.36 GAA and .920 save %. San Jose has been playing well on the offensive end tallying 14 goals in its last four games, so I'm banking on the Sharks getting at least 1-2 goals here. All said, I expect this game to be a 4-2 or 5-2 type of win for Seattle.
Play -240 on the road Kraken or -130 on the home Sharks at +1.5? No brainer in my mind, although that obviously doesn't assure anything. San Jose is starting its better goaltender in Mackenzie Blackwood. This really feels like a spot where Seattle may not be that interested as it's a one-game trip ahead of a long All-Star break. The Kraken's Joey Daccord hasn't had a game off in weeks and his GAA is a half-goal higher on the road. Definitely recommend alt Under 6.5 as well. Hoping FanDuel gives that to us but kinda doubt it.
San Jose seems to score goals in bunches this season, and the Sharks are currently on one of those binges (for them, at least), scoring 14 goals across the past four games, three of those being wins. Three of those games were also "over" results and Mackenzie Blackwood in goal with his 3.63 GAA does not suggest a defensive duel tonight, either. Note Seattle reportedly gives recently-activated Philipp Grubauer his first shot in goal since December 9 after a lower-body injury sidelined him for nearly two months, and his form (3.25 GAA, .884 saves) was not especially good before his injury. This scoreline ought to at least climb to six goals tonight at the Shark Tank. Play kraken-Sharks "Over"
Though recently on a surprise 3-game win streak, San Jose slumped back to its normal form on Saturday when losing to the Sabres, 5-2. Key cog Tomas Hertl also expected to miss tonight. Too often this season, the Sharks have leaked goals, even on the rare occasions when they score a few of them, and Mackenzie Blackwood's stats in goal (8-19-3, 3.63 GAA, .895 saves) reveal part of the problem. Moreover, this is slated to be the night Philipp Grubauer returns to the Kraken lineup in goal after being sidelined for close to two months. Grubauer has struggled early in the season, but returns to a Seattle side in good form, winning 11 of its last 15 games. Play Kraken on Puck Line
I understand the Sharks have been playing better, winning three of their last four. They are also simply not on the same level as the Kraken. Mackenzie Blackwood will be in net for San Jose, who sports a 3.63 GAA. The Kraken need to get things right heading into the break, and I expect them to get a road win on Tuesday night.
