Yep, I know how bad the Steelers look offensively, but as I said on Friday's Early Edge show I think this is utter desperation time for Mike Tomlin's team. Ben Roethlisberger looks washed but gets Chase Claypool back this week and has never lost three straight home games in one season. Frankly, though, this is more fading the Broncos. They were exposed quite a bit last week at home. True, Teddy Bridgewater didn't play the second half and now is on track for Sunday, but Denver was getting dominated when he was in there. Also, the Broncos are without two top receivers and perhaps two offensive linemen. The Steelers did play pretty well last week in Green Bay and will eke this one out.
It seems like Teddy Bridgewater is on track to play this week, and they need him under center to have success. The Broncos' first four drives after Drew Lock took over totaled 40 yards and all ended in punts, while the last came in garbage time and ended with a pick. Bridgewater has completed 72% of his passes with no interceptions this season. The Broncos defense is allowing just 4.6 yards per play (third-best in NFL) and should have plenty of success against a Steelers offense that's one of just seven in the league under five yards per play. So as long as Bridgewater is out there, I trust the Denver offense to score enough points to get the win.
