The Eagles have won and covered the last four meetings against the Redskins over the past two years, winning by at least 10 points in all four. This is the biggest number of the week but I don't believe it's high enough. The Redskins will start Case Keenum, who lost five of his eight road games at Denver last season, and lost his last four starts of the regular season. The bet is against Keenum, Eagles get the cover.
I think Washington might have the worst offense in the league, with question marks on the offensive line, little talent at receiver and castoff Case Keenum at quarterback. The Eagles are one of the best teams in the league and a Super Bowl contender when Carson Wentz is healthy. Consider the strength of these two teams and what the line would be in Week 9 or Week 12 if they've played to form: wouldn't it be something like Eagles -13 in Philadelphia? I think we're getting great value here, and I expect the Eagles to roll.
You're going to want to be on Washington Unders this season. The QB situation is a mess, the receiving options are even worse, and if Trent Williams isn't manning the blind side, the O-line will struggle to block anybody. Throw that offense up against an Eagles defense that could be one of the best in football, and things could get ugly. Washington has a solid defense, and though the Eagles should win with ease, I don't see any reason to empty out the playbook in Week 1. Two years ago the Eagles won in Washington 30-17 in the opener, but this one feels more like 24-13.
