It sounds like fun to hop aboard the Browns Bandwagon, but not nearly as fun as picking the team with the better defense that's getting 5.5 points. Baker Mayfield had an impressive rookie season, yet he beat just one playoff team and needed OT to do it. Freddie Kitchens' first game as a head coach comes against last season's No. 8 D. The Titans will miss Taylor Lewan, but should be able to run on a team that ranked 28th in stopping it last year.
Everyone likes the Browns this year, a team that hasn't had a winning record since 2007. Nobody likes the Titans, a team coming off three straight 9-7 seasons. Isn't the value here on Tennessee? We know they can run the ball, and the Browns had a pretty awful rush D last year. They also have an incredibly underrated defense led by Jurrell Casey and Kevin Byard, and I think the Browns have trouble running on this team with their offensive line. I think this comes down to a field goal late, so I love getting the points here.
The Browns haven't won an opener in a very long time. With Derrick Henry, Tennessee will be able to run the ball and play keepaway from the Browns. The Titans have a strong defense with a really good secondary. Cleveland will have a tough time.
