The combination of LaMelo Ball (ankle) being out and the trade of Terry Rozier to the Heat left the Hornets without a viable point guard. They remedied that situation at the trade deadline by acquiring Tre Mann and Vasilije Micic. The Hornets have won all three games with those two in the fold, which included victories over the Pacers and Hawks. Winning this game in Utah will be difficult, but even if they lose, I like them to cover this big number.
John Collins was hot heading into the All-Star break, averaging 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds over his last 11 games. During that span, he combined for at least 24 points and rebounds in a game seven times. That included a matchup against the Hornets in which he posted 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Hornets have the worst defensive rating in the league, so expect Collins to remain productive in their rematch.
Grant Williams is in line to play a lot off the bench for the Hornets. He has logged at least 27 minutes in each of his first three games with the team, which propelled him to record at least 23 combined points and rebounds in each game. The Jazz have played at the ninth-fastest pace in the league, which should help Williams be productive again. This line has been set way too low, so I love the over.
LaMelo Ball (ankle) remains out for the Hornets. Tre Mann has started all three games since being acquired from the Thunder, averaging 30 minutes during that span. In all three of those games, he combined for at least 13 rebounds and assists. The Jazz have played at the ninth-fastest pace in the league, which should afford Mann with enough opportunities to hit this over.
For the season, the Jazz rank 28th in 3-point defense (38.9 percent). But over their last three games, the Jazz have allowed a league-worst 46.2 percent from deep. It's a dream matchup for Brandon Miller. The rookie has the green light to fire away and he's made at least three 3-pointers in seven of his last 10 games. He's shooting 42.9 percent from deep this month while averaging 33.6 minutes. When he faced Utah at home on Jan. 27, Miller went 0 of 7 from beyond the arc. Look for him to make amends Thursday.
