Minus Joel Embiid, the Sixers are just another team, having recently lost four straight minus their big man (who hopes to return before the playoffs...a long way down the road) before squeezing out a win against the lowly Wizards. Dallas and Golden State both hammered the sans-Embiid Philly last week and not sure the Sixers fare any better tonight at rampaging Cleveland, which has been marching thru the East like General Sherman once did thru Atlanta, as the Cavs are now 17-1 SU and 13-5 vs. the line across their last 18 games, with nine wins on the spin. Even a rare off-night from Donovan Mitchell (15 points, low by his standards) couldn't slow the 119-95 romp at Toronto on Saturday. Play Cavs
The Cavaliers initially limited Darius Garland’s minutes when he returned from his jaw injury. However, he has logged at least 29 minutes in both of the last two games and likely could have played more if they weren’t blowouts. In both of those matchups, he finished with at least seven assists. The 76ers have been terrible on defense since Joel Embiid (knee) went down, giving up an average of 124.2 points over the last six games without him. There is the potential for another blowout here, but I still think Garland gets at least six assists along the way.
This is a big number for Jarrett Allen when Cleveland is at full strength. This combo line would make more sense if Evan Mobley was inactive but Mobley is back in the lineup and should be close to playing without limitations. Allen averages 5.5 fewer PRA when Mobley has been active this season. The Cavs are also playing great basketball and are facing a 76ers team without Joel Embiid which does not bode well for the Sixers and provides some serious blowout potential, hence Cleveland being 9.5 point favorites.
