No Luka Doncic again for Dallas, but this has come down a fair amount because both Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway Jr. were iffy but will play. NBA Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr. was questionable for Memphis but will go. The Grizzlies own the best home record in the NBA (29-5) and have won a season-high tying eight in a row at FedExForum.
The Grizzlies welcome the Dallas Mavericks to Memphis tonight and questions are abound regarding the status of both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. As of now both are listed as questionable, however even if either see minutes tonight they could be on a pitch count. Long story short, this should be a fun game for Desmond Bane. Playing at home, could see a comfortable lead...this is the mixture we want, Bane relaxed and getting a few extra three-point attempts in the air. He's averaging 6.5 attempts behind the arc per game this month although a couple recently almost hit 10. Desmond Bane has hit at minimum two threes in every home game this month, tonight let's watch a couple extra find the bottom of the net.
With both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving listed as questionable, my model has Memphis winning outright in 70% of its simulations. Doncic has claimed that he'll try to suit up tonight, so keep an eye on the injury report. He's missed five straight games with a thigh problem. Irving sat out for three games with a foot issue before playing on Friday, and it's the foot that again has him on the injury report. Even if both play, Dallas is just 3-6 with the two stars on the floor together. If you're feeling trepidatious about an outright Grizz win, Memphis is covering in 68% of my simulations.
