Here's a chance for the A's to get well at the Rate, after piling 12 runs in routing the Chisox last night. Tyler Soderstrom had the big bat with a pair of three-run homers, but all of the A's looked confident and aggressive at the plate. Bad news for the Pale Hose, who usually don't score enough to keep pace. Jonathan Cannon also isn't giving the Sox much of a chance in his last two starts, battered for nine runs across 9 IP vs. the Tigers and Guardians, allowing three homers in the process. I much prefer A's hard-thrower Osvaldo Bido, as his three starts have all looked similar, five serviceable innings in each, one or two runs allowed. Play A's on Run Line.
Operation Fade The Pale Hose rolls on. And with Jonathan Cannon on the bump it's must-fade territory for us. His 5.79 ERA probably flatters him and that 1.64 WHIP is a problem, too. The league is batting .400 off his 4-seamer and the A's have more than enough power to get into the White Sox broken bullpen quickly. Osvaldo Bido has his warts, but has excelled pitching out of jams. I like the A's to mash their way to a win here with a far superior bullpen if this is a close game (even if A's pen not up to last year's standards).
