Look who leads the AL East! The Blue Jays have a chance to sweep four at Fenway Park. Chris Bassitt looks up to it, having allowed just one run in 12 2/3 IP across his first two starts, striking out 16 and walking only 2 in the process. Most definitely, Toronto pitchers have dominated this series, allowing just four runs in three games to the same Bosox who piled up 36 runs across the three-game sweep of the Cardinals on the weekend. Boston is also a bit nervous about offseason rotation add Walker Buehler, who missed much of the past two seasons with injury and has hardly looked sharp thus far, with an 8.68 ERA in two starts. Play Blue Jays on Money Line.
I'm a little surprised the Jays are favored -- albeit not by much -- even if they are going for the surprise sweep. So rare for the Sox to be swept four at home, and you would almost understand if the Toronto guys are a bit flat as the series has been won and they fly out after for Baltimore. Almost surely top Jays reliever Jeff Hoffman is not available after pitching two innings in Wednesday's extra-inning win. And not like I need a victory here ... even if I think Boston gets one. I'll happily pay 60 cents or so for this kind of insurance.
