Maybe the A's can play this series in Reno or Las Vegas. Anywhere but Sacto after getting bombed by the Cubs three straight at Sutter Health Park last week by a combined 35-9 score (sheesh!). Luis Severino felt the wrath of the new home park when getting roughed up last Tuesday, allowing five runs in 6 IP, including a pair of homers to the Cubs. Meanwhile, the Padres salvaged the finale of the weekend set at Wrigley Field after their blazing 7-0 break from the gate. Michael King also pitched like the Cy Young contender the Padres think he can be when handcuffing Cleveland last Tuesday, allowing no runs and two hits across 5 IP in a 7-0 win. The A's have played 3 games in their launching pad of a new home, and 12 HRs have already been hit there. The PCL is known for balls carrying like crazy and this is a PCL stadium in Sac Town. Manny Machado has 3 HRs in 19 career ABs vs Luis Severino. He has yet to homer this season, which is odd for a Padres team that has been raking most nights. Nice value here for a perennial 30-HR guy.
