I barely know who the 29-year-old Chuckie Robinson is -- and clearly our system doesn't with no headshot available (mug in newspaper terms). In his lone start this year, he went 1-for-3, but in his only other big-league season in 2022, he batted .156 in 59 at-bats for the Reds. And it's not like Chuck put up Crash Davis numbers, either, in his long minor-league career. ("The rose goes in the front, big guy.") This is the state of the 2024 White Sox in that Chuckie Robinson is considered an upgrade on Martin Maldonado. Just a small mostly fun play as I miss Marty.

Once again, the Chisox have fallen dangerously close to matching the win pace of the '62 Mets (they of 40-120) with their latest skid of nine games. Frustration is especially high after giving it a real go the last two nights in Arlington, only to fall by one run in each. Worth noting, however, those were with aces Erick Fedde and Garrett Crochet; tonight it's Chris Flexen, in whose last 13 starts the Pale Hose have lost. The Rangers might have it a bit easier tonight if Nathan Eovaldi is beyond his last start on Friday vs. the Orioles (6 runs in 5 IP), and more resembles his previous three starts, with a 1.29 ERA, all Texas wins. Play Rangers on Run Line

The White Sox are now on pace to go 42-120. They've lost 55 games out of 103 total by multiple runs. They've only scored 20 runs in their last 10 games. Nathan Eovaldi and the Rangers bullpen will have a good time in this one. The Rangers offense still needs to get going but Chris Flexen and his 5.22 ERA should help. The Rangers have won 10 of their last 14, by the way, and are only three games out in the AL West now. The most likely outcome is a multi-run Rangers win, so it's the run line (-1.5, -115).

This is an auto fade for us. The Pale Hose are 2-19 when Chris Flexen starts. They have lost 13 in a row, and 10 of those by multiple runs. White Sox going through motions hoping they are among those who get dealt off this sinking ship. Sox entered play Wed an MLB-worst 21-30 ATS on road. Nathan Eovaldi went just 76 pitches in his last start but he's been great all year, hasn't had back-to-back bad starts since mid April and I expect him to shove here.
