This has all the makings of a lopsided win for the Rays. They will start their ace Shane McClanahan, who has a 2.12 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. The Royals’ lineup has already had problems, leaving them to score the second-fewest runs in baseball. Meanwhile, the Rays have scored the second-most runs and have plenty of offensive upside with the Royals going with a bullpen game. Their bullpen has the third-highest ERA in baseball. The juice has come down a little bit on this from the morning, so I’ll jump on it now.
Mismatch of the season as the putrid Royals visit MLB-best Tampa Bay and AL Cy Young favorite Shane McClanahan. I'm a little upset because DraftKings actually opened this at -230 and I was going to play it at that number if I got it at Caesars even briefly -- big price for sure but about as close to a lock as one can get in MLB. Alas, once the other books posted their numbers it got up to the crazy -360 range. Rays RL is the only play here, although it wouldn't surprise me if another SL expert played the Royals ML simply because it's such a big number and anything can happen in one game. I'm not that bettor.
