OK, well, there is interesting news (see last post). Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson are both out of the lineup for the Bombers. The lineup is kinda garbage other than spots 2-4. Sorry if you think Matt Carpenter is still good -- he did get off to hot start but "back to reality" as Soul II Soul would say. Whatever happened to them? The way of Oingo Boingo I guess. Bo Bichette is back for the Blue Jays (imo best uniform in baseball). Gotta back the home side behind Alek Manoah (8-1 1.67 ERA), who should be the Cy Young favorite, but the double-vowel thing is confusing and I had to look twice how to spell it. Ever have a word you just can't spell? That's on my short list.
Both Giancarlo Stanton and DJ Lemahieu are sitting today for the Yankees while Bo Bichette is back in the lineup for the Blue Jays. Alek Manoah has been dominant and he should give you a quality start. Jameson Taillon pitched well in his first two outings against the Blue Jays but that was when the Blue Jays weren’t hitting. Taillon has also been hit hard in his past couple starts. The Yankees are the better team right now and they have their top relief pitchers available, but I think this is the Blue Jays best shot at taking a game with Yusei Kikuchi going tomorrow. Take the Blue Jays at home.
Alek Manoah hasn’t allowed a run in his last two starts, against the Orioles and Royals, and the Blue Jays have won his last five. That followed a three-game losing streak behind him, and one was to the Yankees and Jameson Taillon. New York has an eight-game win streak and has won seven of 10 against the Jays already this season. Two of those wins came with Taillon starting. The Yankees have won 10 of Taillon’s last 11 starts. Yankees to win.
