Let's go with the Dodgers on the run line here (-1.5 at +125). The weather doesn't look nearly as funky as it was on Monday night in Dodger Stadium and the bats are once again a sleeping giant after being shutout. Giants starter Anthony DeSclafani had a 7.33 ERA in six outings against the Dodgers and while a lot of that was spurred by one atrocious outing, they've seen him so many times and their backs are against the wall. I expect Walker Buehler to pitch very well at least two times through the order and then the Dodgers' best relievers to hold the Giants down. It won't be a blowout, but I like a little cushion here.
San Francisco has stayed Under the total in RHP Anthony DeSclafani's last eight starts and won five of his last six turns, one of which was a 3-2 victory against the Dodgers on Sept. 3 as he settled for a no-decision despite working six scoreless innings. Los Angeles is going with RHP Walker Buehler, who is making his first career start on three days' rest after taking the loss in Game 1. The Under is the top play.
Walker Buehler will be pitching on 3 days rest for the Dodgers playoff lives against Anthony Desclafani after the Dodgers were shut out for the second time in three matchups in this series. Buehler has never pitched on 3 days rest. Anthony Desclafani will be making his playoff debut and he did not pitch well against the Dodgers this season, although he has been pitching well lately. Buehler should keep them in the game long enough at home to give them a win and last night was the first game the Dodgers lost in September at home. Expect an offensive explosion from the Dodgers tonight, this series was destined to go 5.
No starting pitcher named yet for LA (perhaps Tony Gonsolin) but it will be all hands on deck for the Dodgers other than Max Scherzer as they look to avoid elimination. I just struggle to see them being completely shut down offensively again -- they were also blanked in Game 1 but then rebounded with nine runs in Game 2. Meanwhile, it's Anthony DeSclafani for the Giants and he was 0-3 with a 7.33 ERA in six starts vs. the Dodgers this year. I'm sure he will be pulled quickly, too, if he struggles. San Francisco probably won't have fire-balling reliever Camilo Doval available as he went two innings on Monday. Another top reliever, Tyler Rogers, went 1.2 innings so he might not be available, either.
