The Indians have won eight of their last nine games. The lone loss came with tonight’s pitcher, Zach Plesac, who pitched eight shutout innings against the Reds only for the bullpen to blow the game in the top of the ninth. Look for that frustrating outing to carry over tonight and for the Mariners to capitalize. Grab Seattle.
It's a big night for the Mariners franchise as two top prospects will debut in outfielder Jarred Kelenic and 6-foot-6 righty pitcher Logan Gilbert. Kelenic is considered a top five prospect in the sport, and Gilbert, who will start, was selected 14th overall in the 2018 MLB Draft and had a 2.12 ERA in his minor-league career. Obviously, the Indians have never seen him -- and Cleveland can't hit as it is. The Indians start Zach Plesac (2-3, 3.83), and he's a solid pitcher, but I like Seattle at home on the runline.
Logan Gilbert is starting for the Mariners while Jarrod Kelenic also makes his MLB debut, both top prospects for the Mariners. However, the Mariners have lost four straight games while the Indians have won eight of their last nine games. Zach Plesac hasn’t allowed a run in either of his last two outings, and he gets a young lineup that strikes out a lot. Gilbert and Kelenic will both be good in their careers, maybe even today. But the value on the Indians while they’re hot is way too good to pass up here because of the public’s overreaction to Gilbert and Kelenic making their debuts.
