The United States Women's National Team play their final tune-up before the 2024 Summer Olympics when they take on Costa Rica in an international friendly on Tuesday. The USWNT, who face Zambia in their Olympic opener on July 25, enter this contest with an eight-game unbeaten streak across all competitions (6-2-0) after edging Mexico 1-0 in a friendly on Saturday. Costa Rica have followed a pair of victories in friendlies with back-to-back 2-0 losses to Argentina.

Kickoff at Audi Field in Washington D.C. is set for 730 p.m. ET. The Americans are -3500 favorites (risk $3500 to win $100) in the latest USWNT vs. Costa Rica odds, while the Costa Ricans are +6000 underdogs. A 90-minute draw is priced at +1300 (For more soccer coverage, click here).

Before you lock in your Costa Rica vs. USWNT picks or predictions, you need to see what proven soccer expert Brandt Sutton has to say.

Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine's top soccer editor for more than six years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most-informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Sutton was SportsLine's top soccer expert in 2022 with a 165-130-2 mark with his soccer picks, returning nearly $2,200 for $100 players. He was also profitable across multiple leagues in 2023, including the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, Europa League and more..

Sutton knows the USWNT are a perfect 3-0-0 under new manager Emma Hayes, posting a clean sheet in all three matches. The Americans scored a total of eight goals in those victories, with defender Tierna Davidson and forwards Mallory Swanson and Sophia Smith all converting twice. The USWNT won each of their previous 17 meetings with Costa Rica across all competitions, the longest winning streak against any opponent in program history.

The expert also has taken into account that prior to their defeats against Argentina, the Costa Ricans posted 5-1 and 2-1 victories over Peru. Defender Cristel Sandi was left off the roster for the matchup with the United States after scoring in both wins, but forward Melissa Herrera - who netted the lone goal for Costa Rica in the 2023 Women's World Cup - will be on the pitch. The USWNT also will have to contend with midfielder Raquel Rodriguez, who is Costa Rica's all-time scoring leader with 54 international goals.
