Tour Championship 2022 odds, picks, field: Golf expert reveals top sleepers, props, best bets, head-to-head matchups, one and done pick

Mike McClure studied the FedEx Cup Playoffs field, odds and starting positions and locked in his top prop bet picks for the Tour Championship this week

The 2022 Tour Championship is set to tee off on Thursday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. The event will serve as final leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs 2022, and will feature a unique scoring format that gives the golfers at the top of the FedEx Cup standings a significant advantage over the rest of the 30-man field. Top-seeded Scottie Scheffler will begin the Tour Championship at 10 under, Patrick Cantlay will begin at 8 under, Xander Schauffele will be at 6 under, and Sam Burns will be at 5 under. Will Zalatoris would have been slated to start at 7 under, but was forced to withdraw due to a back injury. Caesars Sportsbook lists Scheffler as the +220 betting favorite in its latest Tour Championship odds with starting strokes factored in. Other Tour Championship top contenders include Cantlay (7-2), Schauffele (11-2), Rory McIlroy (9-1), Jon Rahm (14-1), and Tony Finau (18-1).

If picking an outright winner doesn't intrigue you, be sure to check out the 2022 Tour Championship prop bets available at Caesars Sportsbook. Golf prop bets are growing in popularity because they allow fans to follow the action throughout the weekend.

We simulated the Tour Championship 2022 10,000 times, and there are some MAJOR surprises.

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been RED-HOT since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model included J.T. Poston in its best bets to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet hit at +5500, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned almost $1,100. At the 2022 Masters, McClure's model was all over Scottie Scheffler's first career major championship victory heading into the weekend.

In addition, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright at the 2021 Open Championship, even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. The model was also all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.

This same model has also nailed a whopping eight majors entering the weekend! Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns!

We can tell you that one of McClure's favorite Tour Championship prop picks is Justin Thomas finishing in the top 5 of the final leaderboard (with starting strokes included) at +225 odds. McClure has also locked in a slew of other prop bets for the 2022 Tour Championship, including an big-name long shot listed at 33-1 long shot to win it all! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any picks of your own.

So what 2022 Tour Championship prop picks should you target? Which HUGE long shot can make a serious run at the title?
