The second game of Monday night's Week 4 NFL doubleheader features two NFC teams favored to make the playoffs teams as the Seattle Seahawks (3-0) visit the Detroit Lions (2-1). The game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC and might see more points scored in one quarter than the 7:30 ET game between the Titans and Dolphins (on ESPN) in its entirety. The Lions are -4.5 with a total of 47.

Seattle and Detroit have combined to average 80.3 points, 913.3 total yards and 52 first downs per game in their past three meetings, all won by Seattle. The 243 combined points scored between them is the fourth-most between any NFL clubs over a three-game span. The record is 254 from Washington and the New York Giants from 1966-68.  

Mike Macdonald is the first Seattle head coach to start 3-0 with the franchise. Macdonald was formerly the Baltimore defensive coordinator, and his unit held Detroit to only six points in Week 7 last year. That was easily the Lions' worst offensive game of 2023. The Seahawks have started 4-0 only twice, most recently in 2020. Despite sitting atop the NFC West by two games in the loss column, Seattle is a +160 second favorite to win it behind San Francisco (-125). 

Detroit's 14-6 regular season record since the start of 2023 was tied for the NFL's best entering Week 4. The Lions, who are -200 to return to the postseason and +175 second favorites in the NFC North behind the Vikings (-105), have succeeded in large part thanks to what could be the league's best offensive line, but will be missing the anchor of that unit tonight, center Frank Ragnow, due to injury. The starting five has played 211 of a possible 212 snaps together this year.
