Fantasy Football Week 9 Waiver Wire: How much to bid on Jameis Winston, Cedric Tillman and more key targets

R.J. White breaks down the best widely-available Fantasy football free agents heading into Week 9

The Jameis Winston Experience ran hot for one week, with the high-variance quarterback leading the Browns to an upset win over the Ravens, who looked like the clear best team in the league over the first seven weeks. The Browns offense had new life with Winston under center, as he threw for 334 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions against an undermanned Baltimore secondary. The man Winston replaced as starter, Deshaun Watson, did not have 200 passing yards in any game this year or 300 passing yards in any game with the Browns, and his only three-TD game came against an awful Washington defense at the end of the 2022 season when he completed just nine of 18 pass attempts.

Clearly, it's a new day for the Browns offense with Winston at quarterback, and as Nick Chubb gets more comfortable taking on a bigger workload and forces defenses to contend with the Browns' rushing attack, the passing game should continue to open up for Winston. Against the Ravens, four different players had at least seven targets, with all four catching at least five passes and recording at least 60 receiving yards. The big name to know for Fantasy is Cedric Tillman, who now has 180 yards on 21 targets over the last two games while scoring twice against the Ravens. Elijah Moore went from an afterthought to season-best totals in receptions (eight), targets (12) and yards (85), with the latter representing his best mark since his rookie season with the Jets. With Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku also key parts of the offense, it's unlikely everyone gets fed on a weekly basis, but all have more Fantasy value today than they did heading into Cleveland's previous start with Watson at QB.
