Fantasy Football 2024 RB committees: Breaking down NFC depth charts, finding draft day workhorses and sleepers

Fantasy and NFL expert R.J. White projects how the NFC's running back committees will play out in 2024

This offseason, a large portion of NFC teams treated the RB1 position like a game of five-card draw poker, throwing many potential starters into the discard pile and then drawing another into their hands. The Panthers, Bears, Cowboys, Packers, Vikings, Giants, and Eagles should all have new primary running backs for the majority of the season barring injury, while injury could be a factor in the Rams and other teams having to lean on new backs as well. The highest-profile faces in new places for Fantasy: Saquon Barkley joining his former team's division rival in Philadelphia and Josh Jacobs landing in Green Bay.

Before you finalize your rankings, you need to see what Fantasy and NFL expert R.J. White has to say about every running back committee in the NFC.

If you're a regular subscriber to SportsLine, you probably know White from dominating NFL picks for years, but did you know he actually got his start in sports media as a fantasy baseball and football analyst? He even finished No. 1 among all experts for his draft rankings the first year FantasyPros tracked MLB expert accuracy on their site. White has continued to excel at season-long and dynasty Fantasy baseball and football formats, and this year he's sharing his Fantasy expertise with SportsLine subscribers.

Last year, White's RB committees columns in the Fantasy Football Draft Bible identified Rachaad White as having workhorse potential by giving a high 8 out of 10 rating on his grading scale, and the Buccaneers back finished the year tied for second in rushing attempts with Christian McCaffrey. He also delved into each team to unearth sleepers like Keaton Mitchell, Devin Singletary, and Tyler Allgeier who outperformed their preseason draft prices.

Now, White has analyzed all 16 NFC backfields to determine which committees provide the most Fantasy value heading into the 2024 season. One NFC sleeper we can share: Rico Dowdle, who flashed in limited opportunities last year. "He's a sleeper worth scooping up late in drafts to see if he can outplay (Ezekiel) Elliott in the first few games and run away with the job," White says.

White is also targeting one completely off-the-radar back who could be a piece of a surprise RB committee in 2024. Don't miss his NFC running back committee breakdown as you prepare for the 2024 Fantasy Football season, and you can find his AFC running back committee breakdown in the Fantasy Football Draft Bible as well.
