Fantasy Baseball 2022 rankings: Starting pitcher tiers, where to target Clayton Kershaw and more strategies to know
The starting pitcher position rarely feels particularly deep in Fantasy, but any reason for optimism about the depth of options has likely dried up after a run of injuries early in spring training and during the offseason. Jacob deGrom, Chris Sale, Lance McCullers and Stephen Strasburg won't recover in time for the start of the regular season, while Luis Castillo, Zack Wheeler, Jack Flaherty and Zac Gallen are just a few of the other pitchers battling injury issues already. And that's before you get into the level of trust you want to put into pitchers that missed a big portion of last year like Jacob deGrom, Mike Clevinger and Carlos Carrasco.
So how should you attack the position heading into your draft? I've done several mock and real snake and salary cap drafts heading into the 2022 MLB season, and I'm here to share the things I've learned so far. If you're a regular subscriber to SportsLine, you probably know me from dominating NFL picks for years, but did you know I actually got my start in sports media as a fantasy baseball analyst? I even finished No. 1 among all experts for my draft rankings the first year FantasyPros tracked MLB expert accuracy on their site.
Let's dive into the starting pitcher position with my tiers and talk about which players I'm more bullish on than the consensus. You can also check out my other positional ranking tiers at the links below.
