English Premier League Burnley vs. Southampton odds, picks: Best bets and predictions for Thursday's match from soccer insider

Soccer insider Brandt Sutton has locked in his picks for Thursday's Premier League make-up matchup at Turf Moor

Burnley hosts Southampton at Turf Moor on Thursday in a make-up of an English Premier League match that was scheduled for March 19. The postponement was caused by Southampton's participation in the FA Cup, and it lost to Manchester City 4-1 the following day. Still, the Saints (9-12-11) are angling for a finish in the top half of the Premier League table, while Burney (4-13-14) is desperate to avoid relegation. Southampton is 12th in the standings, but just one point behind ninth-place Leicester City. Burnley is 18th, three points behind Everton and the safety of the 17th spot.

Kickoff in Burnley, England is set for 2:45 p.m. ET. Caesars Sportsbook lists Burnley as a slight +160 favorite (risk $100 to win $160) on the 90-minute money line in its latest Burnley vs. Southampton odds, with Southampton the +175 underdog. A draw is priced at +230 and the over-under for total goals scored is 2.5.

Before you lock in any Southampton vs. Burnley picks or English Premier League predictions, you HAVE TO see what SportsLine soccer insider Brandt Sutton has to say.

Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine's top soccer editor for nearly five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most-informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe. Sutton has also been on a roll with his best bets, going 66-51 in his last 117 soccer picks, returning over $900 for $100 bettors!

The expert knows Southampton comes in off a 1-0 victory against a talented Arsenal team and has two victories and a draw in the past three meetings. He also knows the Saints have some dangerous weapons in James Ward-Prowse, Che Adams and Armando Broja. Ward-Prowse is a set-piece ace and has seven goals and four assists. Adams (seven goals) provides the pace and Broja (six) the aggression and determination. Goalkeeper Fraser Forster was a revelation in the win against Arsenal, denying the Gunners constantly.

Sutton also knows Burnley is desperate and sees an opening, as it faces five teams in the bottom half of the table in its final seven games. It beat Everton 3-2 for a critical win in its last match at Turf Moor and has lost just once in the past six meetings with the Saints there. The Clarets also have some talented attackers, and Wout Weghorst (two goals in 13 games) ended an eight-game goal drought when he scored in a 1-1 draw with West Ham on Sunday. Maxwel Cornet missed a penalty kick but has a team-high seven goals.

Sutton has taken an in-depth look at Thursday's Burnley vs. Southampton match from all sides and locked in his best bets. We can tell you he's going Under on the goal total, and he also has locked in a CONFIDENT money-line play and offers a full breakdown of this Premier League matchup! You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks and analysis before making any selections of your own.
