The past two Thursday Night Football games have featured blowouts from the AFC East. Perhaps the NFC East will fare better in terms of a competitive game as the Dallas Cowboys (1-2) visit the New York Giants (1-2) tonight to kick off Week 4, with the loser claiming sole ownership of the divisional basement. The Giants haven't beaten Dak Prescott since his 2016 rookie season, and the Cowboys are 5.5-point favorites with a total of 45.5. There come be some rain in East Rutherford, N.J. 

It's the first of seven scheduled standalone games for the mega-popular Cowboys, and if they lose the seat of head coach Mike McCarthy is going to get scorching hot. Dallas had won 16 straight regular-season home games before being dominated at JerryWorld the past two Sundays, which has shot McCarthy up to a +450 second favorite to be the first NFL coach fired after Jacksonville's Doug Pederson (+150). 

Prescott, meanwhile, lost both matchups to the Giants in his first year but has won 12 in a row since, throwing for a combined 26 touchdowns and only six interceptions. He even had a receiving touchdown in a 37-34 victory in 2020. Only three quarterbacks in NFL history have won more consecutive games against a single opponent than Prescott has vs. New York: Bob Griese won 17 straight against the Bills; Tom Brady had a 13-game run against the Bills; and Steve Young won 13 in a row vs. the Rams.

The Giants' Brian Daboll was the betting favorite to be the first NFL coach fired after two weeks but is now third on the board at +800 following New York's surprising win in Cleveland this past Sunday. The Giants try to win on a Thursday for the first time since 2015 and pull off the Sunday-Thursday sweep for the first time since 2014.
