Bettors have many different options to choose from on Tuesday, April 22, with NBA Playoffs, NHL Playoffs and MLB games all on the schedule. We'll highlight the top betting opportunities with links to full game analysis and picks throughout the article while providing the top betting tips for today's matchups.
Among today's best sportsbook promos is an offer from FanDuel. New users who risk at least $5 on their initial wager will receive $250 in bonus bets if their first bet wins, with no promo code required.
Milwaukee Bucks at Indiana Pacers (-4, 229.5): 7:00 p.m. ET
The Pacers controlled Game 1 at home, defeating the Bucks 117-98. Indiana was led by Pascal Siakam's 25 points, while Tyrese Haliburton added 10 points and 12 assists. If Milwaukee hopes to even the series up on Tuesday, it will need to shoot better. The Bucks went 9-of-37 (24.3%) from three and shot just 41.7% overall from the floor in the Game 1 loss.
Indiana's victory ended Milwaukee's eight-game winning streak, and the Pacers are now 8-1 in their last nine contests. These two teams tend to play higher-scoring games when they get together, with seven of the last 10 matchups going over the total.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers (-5.5, 210.5): 10:00 p.m. ET
The biggest surprise of the NBA Playoffs so far was Minnesota easily handling the Lakers on the road, 117-95. Three Timberwolves—Jaden McDaniels (25), Naz Reid (23) and Anthony Edwards (22)—topped 20 points in Minnesota's Game 1 victory. Luka Doncic scored 37 in a losing effort, but the Lakers shot just 39.8% from the field.
While the outcome was considered an upset by the betting line and seeding, the Timberwolves ended the season on a tear. Minnesota has won nine of its last 10 games overall and has taken three of the last four versus Los Angeles. Game 1 went under the total for the seventh time in the last 10 meetings between the two teams.
Florida Panthers at Tampa Bay Lightning (-115, 5.5) 8:30 p.m. ET
In-state rivals square off in the opening round of the NHL playoffs when the Florida Panthers travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning. While Florida is a slight underdog on the road, the Panthers have won seven of the last 10 meetings, with three of those victories coming in Tampa Bay.
Los Angeles Dodgers (-120, 8.5) at Chicago Cubs 7:40 p.m. ET
It's only April 22, but Tuesday already marks the sixth time the Dodgers and Cubs will play in 2025. The two teams met in Japan to kick off the MLB season back on March 18. Los Angeles won the first three games, with the Cubs taking the last two.
It could be a pitcher's duel on Tuesday between Dustin May and Shota Imanaga. May is 1-1 on the season with an impressive 1.06 ERA and 0.76 WHIP. Imanaga counters with a 2-2 record, 2.22 ERA, and 0.99 WHIP. He pitched 4.0 scoreless innings against the Dodgers back on March 18 in a game the Cubs lost 4-1.
