2025 Super Bowl odds, futures: Best bets, top longshots, favorites to fade and full betting strategy
The Chiefs officially cemented dynasty status last season by winning their second consecutive Super Bowl in their fourth championship game appearance in five years. Immediately after the game, which was the first to go to overtime in Super Bowl history, the talk on the podium was centered around becoming the first team to ever three-peat in the Super Bowl and the first team since Vince Lombardi's Packers to win three straight NFL titles (Green Bay was the last NFL champion prior to winning the first two Super Bowls).
Standing in their way is a strong set of teams around the league, but also the reality that none of the eight teams to repeat as Super Bowl champions even made it back to the title game the following season, with only three reaching their conference title game. It's hard to imagine the Chiefs not getting at least that far without an injury to star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but wilder things have happened in the history of the NFL.
We've already previewed betting strategy for all 32 teams at SportsLine, but now we'll turn our attention to the different markets themselves, starting with Super Bowl betting strategy. Since Super Bowl 50, only one champion was longer than +1200 to win it all in preseason odds, with Nick Foles' Eagles (+4000) shocking the Patriots, who were only +275 to win the Super Bowl prior to the 2017 season. Several longshots have joined the Eagles in making the Super Bowl, such as the +15000 Bengals three years ago and the +6000 Panthers in Super Bowl 50, but the second longest preseason odds from a Super Bowl winner over the last nine years was just +1200.
We'll share our thoughts on each of the favorites that fit the mold of recent Super Bowl winners as well as identify a few teams that could break it. But first, here are the odds to win the Super Bowl at several national sportsbooks as of July 15.
