Scottie Scheffler won his sixth tournament of the 2024 season in dramatic fashion as he held off Tom Kim in a playoff to win the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, CT. Of those six tournaments, four have been Signature Events, plus The Players Championship, the unofficial fifth major, and The Masters in April. To say that Scheffler has been dominant since March would be an understatement. He's in the midst of an all-time great PGA Tour campaign that can only be properly capped off with a FedExCup title on September 1st.

Now the PGA Tour moves on to Michigan for the Rocket Mortgage Classic, an event without much star power. Detroit Golf Club hosts the event for a field of 156 players and $9.2 million in prize money. This par-72 course plays at nearly 7,400 yards and has tended to favor bombers off the tee as there isn't much to penalize players with wayward misses with the driver.

Last week's runner-up, Tom Kim is the +1200 favorite, followed by Cameron Young, who shot a 59 on Saturday in Connecticut, at +1400 odds. Akshay Bhatia and Min Woo Lee are +2000, with Alex Noren, Will Zalatoris, Maverick McNealy, Keith Mitchell, and Stephen Jaeger at +3000.

"This may be an unpopular opinion coming off a brilliant performance in Connecticut, but I just can't endorse a golfer at these low odds who is playing for the ninth consecutive week. I know that Kim is only 22 years old and has plenty of stamina, but there's a reason pro golfers build plenty of off weeks into their schedule."
