2024 NFL futures, odds: Offensive Rookie of the Year betting strategy includes best bets, key longshot values

We continue previewing the 2024 NFL season by breaking down the Offensive Rookie of the Year odds and giving out our picks

The 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year race has a clear favorite in No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, who is +135 to +140 at three national sportsbooks. No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels comes in a distant second at +550 to +650, while No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr., widely considered the top receiver prospect to come out in a long time, is third at +650 to +750. While the Offensive Rookie of the Year figures to come down to one of those three players, three other first-round quarterbacks could make noise in the race with Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy and Bo Nix all top-12 picks, and a deep receiver class that also includes top-10 picks Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze could be a factor as well.

Last year, Bijan Robinson entered the year as the OROY favorite with all the hype as one of the best running back prospects in a long time, but it was C.J. Stroud who emerged from being third favorite to running away with the award while garnering 48 of 50 first-place votes. With Robinson falling short, the last running back to be named OROY is still Saquon Barkley from 2018, and with Stroud topping Bryce Young for the award, a No. 1 overall pick has taken home OROY just once since Sam Bradford and Cam Newton did it in back-to-back seasons in 2011-12 (Kyler Murray, 2019).

I'll dig more into what recent history regarding award winners means for our strategy, break down the field for Offensive Rookie of the Year below and identify who I think makes the most sense to back, including some longshots I think could be worth small-sized plays. But first, let's look at the list of odds for players who are lower than 100-1 in our consensus odds average.
