The 2024 Spanish Grand Prix will take place this Sunday at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The lights will go out at 9 a.m. ET and Ferrari will be looking to put a disastrous performance at the Canadian Grand Prix behind them after a double podium in Monaco. Charles Leclerc is second in the F1 standings and is priced at +800 in the Spanish Grand Prix odds while teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. is listed at +2200.

Three-time defending world champion Max Verstappen is the -200 favorite (bet $200 to win $100) favorite and Lando Norris is +500 after recording a victory, three runner-up finishes and a fourth-place finish in his last five starts. Oscar Piastri, Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz are all +2200, with Sergio Perez and George Russell both getting +2500. Fernando Alonso (+10000) is the only other driver going off lower than +40000.

SportsLine's proven computer projection model simulated the Spanish GP 2024 10,000 times and come up with a surprising leaderboard.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model takes into account a slew of factors including track history and recent results.

The model has been scorching hot when it comes to picking Formula 1 race events dating back to 2021. It nailed both of Charles Leclerc's wins in 2022, and at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, the model was strongly backing Verstappen as its top pick. The result: Verstappen dominated the field and ran away with a surprising victory.

It followed that up by calling Verstappen's win at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP in April and nailed Verstappen to win in Belgium, the Netherlands, Japan, the United States, Mexico and Abu Dhabi. It also called all 19 of Verstappen's wins during the 2023 season and nailed each of his six wins in 2024! Then last week he also nailed Alex Albon to finish top 10 for a +340 payout. Anyone who followed the model's lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns!

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya opened in 1991 and it's been the host of the Spanish Grand Prix ever since. The 14-turn, 2.894-mile track and most drivers have an intimate knowledge of the nuances, with the circuit regularly hosting Formula 1 testing. Meanwhile, the Spanish Grand Prix has history that dates back to 1913 and it's been a fixture of the F1 schedule since 1986. Max Verstappen earned his first career Formula 1 victory in the Spanish Grand Prix in 2016 and he has also won the last two years at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Now, the model has dialed in on the 2024 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections.

We can tell you the model is fading Leclerc, predicting that he finishes off the podium once again! The winner in Monaco is coming off a terrible day in Montreal, starting outside the top 10 and then experiencing early power issues that led to a retirement. It was an enormous letdown coming off a victory in the Monaco Grand Prix two weeks prior.

Now Leclerc heads to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where he's had issues each of the last two seasons. He finished 11th and failed to record a point in 2023 and was retired in 2022 because of system failures after winning the pole and leading the early portion of the week. The model predicts another difficult weekend for Leclerc and Ferrari in Spain.

Instead, the model is also targeting one driver going off longer than 20-1 to make a serious charge up the leaderboard! Anyone who backs this driver could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who he is before locking in any Formula 1 Spanish GP picks of your own.

So who wins the 2024 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, and which SERIOUS longshot could be in contention? ... Join SportsLine right now to see the full projected Spanish GP leaderboard, all from the model that nailed all 25 of Verstappen's wins since last season, and find out!
