The month-long break is over and Formula 1 is back with the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday at Circuit Zandvoort roughly 20 miles west of Amsterdam. Max Verstappen has a 78-point lead in the F1 standings but Red Bull Racing was losing momentum heading into the break while McLaren and Mercedes had turned a corner. However, a month to make changes can significantly change the dynamic of an F1 season and, with eight races left, fortunes could change in an instant.

After Verstappen opened as the favorite, McLaren rival Lando Norris has overtaken him at +180 in the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix odds. Verstappen is next at +190, Oscar Piastri next at +600. The race begins at 9 a.m. ET.

Circuit Zandvoort first opened in 1948 and hosted the first Dutch Grand Prix in 1950. It's hosted all 35 Dutch Grand Prix since but there was a 34-year span where the race wasn't included on the Formula One schedule. However, after the pandemic, the Dutch Grand Prix was reinstated and native Dutchman Max Verstappen has won in his home country each of the last three years on his way to winning the world title. 

Now, the model has dialed in on the 2024 Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections. 

We can tell you the model is predicting a stunning top-10 finish for Daniel Ricciardo of RB Formula One Team that would pay out +150. The 35-year-old Australian is an eight-time winner in Formula 1 but there were questions about whether or not his career might be over when he found himself without a ride heading into the 2023 season.

However, Ricciardo eventually found himself in a seat at AlphaTauri last season and now that rebranded team is starting to find its footing. After finishing no better than 12th in the first five races of the season, Ricciardo earned five points with a fourth-place finish in the Miami sprint race and has since added points finishes in Canada, Austria and Belgium. He's now up to 13th in the standings and the model is predicting two more points with a ninth-place finish on Sunday.
