2024 Formula 1 schedule, F1 picks, odds: Belgian Grand Prix projected leaderboard, start time, race prediction from top model

SportsLine's model simulated the Belgian GP 2024 and released its F1 predictions for Max Verstappen and the rest of the grid

McLaren has been on the upswing for months now and after a 1-2 finish last week in Hungary, they'll head into the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps with more momentum than any other team. The green flag will drop at 9 a.m. ET and Formula 1 will go on a month-long break following the race. Last week's victory wasn't without drama, as Lando Norris was asked to stand down to allow his teammate, Oscar Piastri, to take the checkered flag.

Norris is the +125 favorite (bet $100 to win $125) in the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix odds. Norris is the first driver in well over two calendar years to be favored over three-time defending world champion Max Verstappen (+200). Piastri is third on the board at +650.

SportsLine's proven computer projection model simulated the Belgian GP 2024 10,000 times and come up with a surprising leaderboard.

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model takes into account a slew of factors including track history and recent results.

The model has been scorching hot when it comes to picking Formula 1 race events dating back to 2021. It nailed both of Charles Leclerc's wins in 2022, and at the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, the model was strongly backing Verstappen as its top pick. The result: Verstappen dominated the field and ran away with a surprising victory.

It followed that up by calling Verstappen's win at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP in April and nailed Verstappen to win in Belgium, the Netherlands, Japan, the United States, Mexico and Abu Dhabi. It also called all 19 of Verstappen's wins during the 2023 season and nailed each of his seven wins in 2024! Anyone who followed the model's lead on those plays has seen HUGE returns!

Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, more simply known as Spa, is considered one of the world's best and most challenging racing circuits. It opened in 1921 and first hosted the Belgian Grand Prix in 1925, with Michael Schumacher winning at Spa a record six times. The 20-turn, 4.352-mile track starts off iconically, with a mad dash from the start-finish line to La Source, a diabolical hairpin turn that sends drivers off to the fastest section of the race course. Verstappen has won the Belgian Grand Prix the last three seasons and he'll be looking for a rebound after going three weeks without a victory for the first time since 2021.

Now, the model has dialed in on the 2024 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix and just released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections.

We can tell you the model is predicting a stunning top-10 finish for Yuki Tsunoda of RB Formula One Team that would pay out +300. Tsunoda is now in his fourth season driving for the team formerly known as Alpha Tauri and he's already matched a career-high with seven points finishes (top 10) over the first 13 races of the season. That includes a 10th-place finish at the British Grand Prix and a ninth-place finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix last weekend.

Instead, the model is also targeting one driver with double-digit odds to make a serious charge up the leaderboard! Anyone who backs this driver could hit it BIG. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who he is before locking in any Formula 1 Belgian GP picks of your own.

So who wins the 2024 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix, and which SERIOUS longshot could be in contention? ... Join SportsLine right now to see the full projected Belgian GP leaderboard, all from the model that nailed all 26 of Verstappen's wins since last season, and find out!
