We've taken an analytical look at building rankings for sleeper and breakout picks for 2024 Fantasy football drafts, and now it's time to do the same for busts. Last year, we decided to grade bust picks on whether a player who is drafted to be a starter in a standard two-RB, three-WR league (12 QBs, 24 RBs, 36 WRs, 12 TEs) falls short enough of their positional ADP to earn the label.

Our criteria for that was finishing five spots short of a top-four positional ADP in terms of PPG at their respective positions, or finishing worse than double otherwise. So the top player in ADP at a position would be a bust if he finishes sixth, the fourth if he finishes ninth, the fifth if he finishes 11th, and so on.

And the results of our picks were ... pretty good! Justin Fields, Deshaun Watson, Bijan Robinson, Jonathan Taylor, and Cooper Kupp were all on our list and didn't finish close enough to their positional ADP in points per game to avoid a bust tag. Calvin Ridley disappointed as well but didn't finish quite far down enough in PPG to qualify, while Kenneth Walker and George Kittle only slightly underperformed. While some of those players dealt with injury, we're mitigating those health factors as much as possible by focusing on PPG rather than total Fantasy points scored during the 2023 season.

So we're going run it back with the same rules this year and look for potential landmines early in drafts who I expect to have little to no shares of in Fantasy leagues this season. I don't necessarily think these picks will have terrible seasons, but I do believe that taking them at their current ADP could mean losing enough value from early selections that it'll make winning a Fantasy title difficult.

I've come up with a list of my biggest bust candidates for 2024 Fantasy Football drafts who all meet our parameters, and below I've ranked them by how confident I am they'll fail to live up to their draft price by a wide enough margin to qualify as a bust. They include two players being drafted in the top 10 overall!
