In Week 9, we lost our top situational play of the 2024 college football season for the first time in four weeks as the Louisville Cardinals (+4.5) came up short against the Miami Hurricanes in a 52-45 loss.

Louisville piled up 448 yards and essentially matched powerful Miami score for score in this shootout. But the Cardinals were felled by an inability to get off the field at key times, which included allowing the Hurricanes to convert a third-and-17 in the fourth quarter in a drive that ended in a Miami touchdown. The Cardinals also had a fourth-quarter defensive touchdown overturned by replay. 

Despite what looked like a prime spot in which to back Louisville as an underdog, Miami came out sharp from the outset and held its edge throughout the game. We take the loss in stride and move forward to Week 9. 

For Week 9 of the 2024 college football season, there are a couple of situational spots we have identified that appear favorable. We're posting just one for now, but might add another as the week progresses.
