2022 FIFA World Cup USA vs. Wales odds, picks: Predictions and best bets for Monday's USMNT opener from proven soccer expert

Soccer betting expert Jon "Buckets" Eimer, who went 20-12 on his World Cup Qualifying picks for SportsLine, has locked in his selections for the matchup between the USMNT and Wales in Ar-Rayyan, Qatar

The United States Men's National Team kick off their campaign at Qatar 2022 on Monday when they take on Wales in their 2022 FIFA World Cup opener. Team USA missed out on the 2018 World Cup, while Wales have played in the game's international showcase just once before, when they reached the quarterfinals in 1958. The Americans have played in the World Cup nine times, reaching the Round of 16 in four of them.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Ar-Rayyan, Qatar. Team USA are +135 favorites on the money line (risk $100 to win $135) in the latest USA vs. Wales odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Wales are a +230 underdogs, a draw is priced at +200, and the over/under for total goals scored is set at 2.5. (For more soccer coverage, click here.)

Before you make any Wales vs. USA picks or 2022 FIFA World Cup predictions, you MUST see what renowned soccer bettor Jon "Buckets" Eimer has to say.

Eimer is a high-volume bettor who has vast knowledge of leagues and players across the globe. Since joining SportsLine, Eimer has covered the English Premier League, Serie A, the FA Cup and much more. He is an impressive 48-25-1 on his Premier League picks for SportsLine in 2022, for a profit of almost $1,800 for $100 bettors. He also went 20-12 on his World Cup Qualifying picks, for a return of almost $600.

Eimer knows the USMNT is young and talented, and while the Americans lack a truly lethal striker, they have plenty of dangerous attackers. The likes of Christian Pulisic, Brenden Aaronson, Tim Weah and Gio Reyna all can wreak havoc. Pulisic has 21 goals in 52 international matches, including five in 12 this season. Midfielder Weston McKennie, who plays in Italy's Serie A with Juventus, should be able to find holes in a Wales back line that has conceded at least one goal in five straight matches -- and lost four of them.

The expert also has considered that Wales are an experienced team who have faced many of the world's top teams, so they won't be overwhelmed by the atmosphere. Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey are both big-game players, and they have been involved in nine of 13 goals at the team's last two major tournaments (Euro 2016 and 2020). Wales will be determined in their first appearance on the biggest stage in 64 years. They willed their way to a 1-0 victory against Ukraine, which had the backing of most of the world, to qualify.

Eimer has taken an in-depth look at the Wales vs. USA matchup and locked in his picks. He is leaning Under the goal total and also offers two CONFIDENT best bets, including one that returns plus money, and his full breakdown of this FIFA World Cup match. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks and analysis before making any selections of your own!
