2022-23 UEFA Nations League Italy vs. Germany odds, picks: Predictions and best bets for Saturday's showdown from soccer insider

Soccer insider Brandt Sutton has locked in his UEFA Nations League picks for the high-profile Italy vs. Germany matchup on Saturday in Bologna, Italy

Italy will try to get back on track at the 2022-23 UEFA Nations League, but it won't be easy with its first matchup on Saturday coming against Germany. The Italians failed to make the World Cup for the second straight cycle, and the Euro 2020 title they won last summer seems like a long time ago. The Germans plowed through qualifying, winning nine of 10 games to win their group easily.

The match is for 2:45 p.m. ET at Renato Dall'Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. Germany is the +140 favorite (risk $100 to win $140) on the 90-minute money line in the latest Italy vs. Germany odds. The underdog, Italy, is listed at +190, while a regulation draw is priced at +240. The Over/Under for total goals scored is set at 2.5.

Before locking in any Germany vs. Italy picks, you HAVE TO see what SportsLine soccer insider Brandt Sutton has to say.

Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine's top soccer editor for nearly five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most-informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Sutton has also been on a roll with his best bets, going 94-72 in his last 166 soccer picks, returning more than $2,400 for $100 bettors!

Sutton knows the Germans have been dominant, going 9-0-1 in World Cup qualifying, with a 36-4 goal differential. They have not lost since a setback to England at Euro 2020 last June, allowing just six goals while going 8-1-0 since then. Die Mannschaft last got together for a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands in March, and Thomas Muller scored the goal in that game. He continues to be the catalyst for the team, and players like Sergio Gnabry, Ilkay Gundogan, Leon Goretzka, and Leroy Sane are all dangerous options.

The expert also has considered that Italy is playing at home and needs a statement victory. The Azzurri lost to North Macedonia in a World Cup qualifying playoff in March, then lost 3-1 to Argentina in the Cup of Champions on Wednesday. Italy has dominated Germany in major tournament matches, with the Germans' first victory coming in the last meeting, a 6-5 penalty shootout win in the 2016 Euros after a 1-1 draw. Rising star goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma of Paris Saint-Germain can keep his team in any game.

Now, Sutton has set his sights on Germany vs. Italy and locked in his best bets. We can tell you he's leaning Over on the total, and he's also locked in a strong play on one team to win this UEFA Nations League matchup! You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks and analysis before making any selections of your own.
