The Mean Green have quietly developed an explosive offense under coach Eric Morris that has scored no fewer than 41 points in each of its past three games. Memphis is reputed for offense but has relied on a defense that has yielded just 10 total points in its past two outings. Even so, the Tigers have struggled to gain separation against modest competition and this is enough of a cushion to back a North Texas club that is capable of keeping pace.

I'm skeptical of higher totals this season as we've seen scoring decrease each of the last two seasons. Rule changes have led to fewer possessions for teams, and it's impacting scoring. As is some defensive adjustments teams have made to counter pass-happy offenses. With all that in mind, this total seems a touch too high.
