The Wolverines appear to be galvanized behind the turmoil surrounding coach Jim Harbaugh, but this team was likely headed to another playoff berth regardless. Michigan has won the past seven meetings in this series, with all but one coming by at least 21 points. Maryland became bowl eligible in squeaking by Nebraska last week. But the Terrapins have lost to Penn State and Ohio State by 56 combined points.

One thing we can assume about Michigan's substitute coach, Sherrone Moore: He prefers the run to the pass. The Wolverines registered no official passes in the second half against Penn State and eight for the game. Moore fills in again for suspended boss Jim Harbaugh, and the second highest total of Michigan's Big Ten season has been assigned. The 15 points scored by Penn State is the most UM's defense has yielded. Only 23 total points were scored in Maryland's latest outing.

We saw the Wolverines run the ball 32 straight times to close out Penn State last week, and that game plan will repeat itself this week. There is simply no need for them to get creative at this point, and they will want to drain the clock in order to get ready for Ohio State this week.
