KU star QB Jalon Daniels will not start for a second straight week and backup Jason Bean really struggled against Texas. UCF's defense is not at that level but still. Knights starting QB John Rhys Plumlee will return for the first time since Week 2 and that added a half-point the the total at some books but I'm not sure it should have. JRP is not a particularly strong thrower but a good runner. I'm pretty sure he was named after one of the people who had a motive to shoot JR in the biggest cliffhanger in TV history (actually had to go look up who it was again; I'm not that old). Sure sounds like a Dallas moniker. Half unit.
It's happened again. A dynamic QB is out -- or doubtful, in this case. The spread shifts dramatically while the total barely budges. With Jason Daniels likely to sit out, Kansas has flipped from favorite to underdog. The total remains high, in part because replacement Jason Bean has several starts under his belt. Yet he generated only 14 points against Texas. Perhaps another factor for the lofty total is UCF's fast-paced offense. With Daniels absent, however, the Jayhawks may ease off the throttle offensively and help deliver an Under.
