This might be a value spot for Colorado. (I cannot believe I just wrote those eight words.) Everyone knows the Buffaloes have been atop the headlines this season, but beyond all the swag and hype is a talented offensive football team. The bounce back the Buffs showed against USC -- after getting blown out by Oregon and early against the Trojans -- was more than admirable. Travis Hunter is still out, but Shedeur Sanders is the engine of this team, and I don't see Arizona State (without Jaden Rashada) having the firepower to match up offensively.
This could end up being one of the most important games of the year for Colorado as it represents one of the key toss-up games in conference play. I'm trusting Deion Sanders to get this group locked in for an Arizona State team that has self-imposed a bowl ban and could be using a visit from the high-profile bus as their Super Bowl. I think Colorado has better higher-end talent, and with the urgency to bounce back from the Oregon and USC losses the Buffs take care of business.
Colorado has dropped its last two games. However, their offense, and defense, showed promise in their second-half rally against the Trojans. Colorado still struggles on defense, allowing 480 yards of total offense, but the Sun Devils’ offense is not like Oregon or USC. The Sun Devils average 16 points per game and 332 yards. Arizona State might not be able to keep up offensively with the Buffaloes, as they haven’t scored over 30 points all season as compared to Colorado averaging 34.2 points per game.
