Each team has regressed this season. Houston kept each of their first two games close despite their lack of offensive capabilities it had a few seasons ago. The Horned Frogs were exposed by Colorado, and you can’t take much out of their blowout win against Nicholls. Within this in-state rivalry, people may expect a close, back-and-forth game. Houston may find success to keep this within the number on a Horned Frogs defense allowing 25.5 points per game.

Major reunion game as it's Houston's Big 12 debut -- the Cougars are now conference members again with TCU. UH is looking for its fifth consecutive victory in conference debuts. Both head coaches are friends and used to work under the late Mike Leach at Texas Tech, so there shouldn't be many offensive surprises. The Frogs are truly a shell of their 2022 selves after losing a ton of talent to the NFL/graduation, etc. Since the start of the 2021 season, Houston is 6-1 in games following a loss. It was upset at Rice last week but surely looking ahead to this one.

This is more of a fade of the Horned Frogs who I think are very overated from last season's playoff appearance. Max Duggan threw for 3800 yards, 32 touchdowns with just 8 interceptions. Duggan is now the back up for the Chargers. Houston's HC Dana Holgersen is a veteran head coach that will have his team ready off a loss to Houston city rival Rice. I had Rice so feel solid about Houston's rating.
